Montecito Real Estate – New Luxury Homes in Montecito and Hope Ranch

For the week of December 8th, there were five new luxury properties to go on the market in Santa Barbara’s high-end neighborhoods of Montecito and Hope Ranch. This week, we are highlighting a beautiful French farmhouse style home at 202 Olive Mill Rd in Montecito. This home was designed by Hall Pardoe and built by Griffin & Crane in 2007. Montecito Home Sales for the Month of October

The volume of luxury property sales in Montecito and Hope Ranch for October 2010 was down significantly with only 7 home sales compared to 15 last year.

In Hope Ranch, $18,440,000 bought one luxury buyer this incredible oceanfront estate on 8 acres of lush landscaped grounds. Property highlights include a putting green, tennis court, pool, wine cellar, exercise room, and a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom guest house. This property was originally listed at $28.5 million.

Another notable property which sold this month was this Birnam Wood contemporary home on Stratfard Place in Montecito, which was featured on the Montectio Real Estate blog back in early September. This property sold for $2,550,000.

Montecito Home Sales for the Month of September

September 2010 saw good activity with 11 homes sold  for over $2 million in Montecito and Hope Ranch, a number equal to September 2009′s total sales.

One exceptional Montecito property worth highlighting was this impressive Italian Villa next door to San Ysidro Ranch. 1610 E. Mountain Drive arrived on the market in July of 2009 for $16,000,000 and when it finally sold in September of 2010, the price had dropped $3 million to $13,000,000. Surrounded by 3.4 acres of terraced gardens and overlooking the ocean, this 5 bedroom estate is a great example of a premier Montecito property for the most discriminating buyer.
